Jeffrey “Jeff” David Coolman was born on January 24, 1967, in Monroe, Michigan to the union of Jerry Coolman and Judith (Bomia) Goins. He resurrected his father's legacy by restarting the family business, JD Coolman Transportation, embodying the hard work, resilience, and dedication that his father instilled in him. His commitment to his business was matched only by the love he had for family.

Jeff was famous in his family for making the best biscuits and gravy from scratch, which also were a favorite of his children. His kitchen was always full of laughter whenever he was cooking. Jeff’s love for the outdoors shone brightly in many aspects of his life. His passion for fishing and hunting deer and mushrooms constantly drew him out into nature, as did his farmer’s heart. He took great pride tending to his homestead and loved having the company of his chickens and cows which he proudly gifted to his children yearly.
