Obituary of Brandon Lee Bacome

Brandon Lee Bacome was born in Toledo, Ohio on March 6, 1985.  The son of Harold Jon Wandt and Wendy (Bacome) Sengstock, he was a 2004 graduate of Bedford High School.  

Brandon married the former Barbie Lee Barror on February 6, 2018.  The couple had a special bond.  They loved each other dearly and spent everday together.  They overcame many challenges over the years, and truly fell in love being married to one another. Together they had a busy home raising their six children whom he cherished more than anything.

 In 2022, he pursued a lifelong dream by becoming a Volunteer Firefighter for the City of Luna Pier.  This opportunity was something that meant the world to him. It set him on a path that boosted his faith and taught him amazing skills to be patient and help the community.

Brandon loved music. He listened to many different types but also had his favorites such as, ICP, Slip Knot, Garth Brooks, Jelly Roll and Merkules. His love for music also helped his 8-year Autistic daughter develop calmer social skills over the years.  He enjoyed fishing at the Luna Pier – Pier, rebuilding BMX bikes, and spend many years becoming a weather spotter online.  He proudly earned the nickname, “Batman” for his love of the character. He battled and conquered trials in life and became his family’s Superhero.

Brandon Lee Bacome, age 39 of Luna Pier passed away at his sister’s home at 9:24am on Thursday; October 24, 2024, under the care of Heartland Hospice, wife Barbie, sisters Mandy and Whitney and cousin Dakota.  He had been in poor and declining health since suffering Cadiac Arrest and as a result an anoxic brain injury on May 14, 2024. Later developing pseudomonas in a local nursing home.  His passing was preceded by his Great Grandparents Harold and Dorthy Bacome, Grandparents: Carl Bacome and Joyce Perry, Jon and Betty Jean Wandt Paternal Aunt: Bonnie Laberge.  Also, his mother-in-law Lois Graybill in May of this year.

To cherish his memory he leaves his beloved wife: Barbie Lee Bacome of Luna Pier; his parents: Harold Jon Wandt, Wendy and John Sengstock; his children: Daughter: LiliAna Barror, Child: Lavender Campbell and Son: Mason Bacome, Daughter: Janet Yeager, and Daughters: Poison Ivy Bacome and Margaret Loraine Bacome; Eight siblings: Chayela Amolsch, Jason Wandt, Mandy Wandt, Chassitie Amolsch, Cody Amolsch, Whitney Amolsch, Austin Amolsch, and Tabatha Paul; and two Grandchildren: Allora and Salem.

Friends may gather from 12:30pm until 2:30pm on Wednesday; November 6, 2024, at Merkle Funeral Service, South Monroe; 14567 South Dixie Highway, Monroe, Michigan 48161 (734) 241-7070.  A Celebration of His Life will take place at 2:30pm also at Merkle’s with Pastor BJ McDaniel of One-Way Christian Fellowship officiating.  Procession will follow to Roselawn Memorial Parkin LaSalle for burial. A tribute dinner will follow at 5pm at the Luna Pier Volunteer Fire Department.
