Obituary of Terry Lynn Winkelman

Please share a memory of Terry to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Terry Lynn Winkelman was born in Monroe, Michigan on July 5, 1951. He was one of three sons born from the union of Richard and Marilyn (Baker) Winkelman. He attended and graduated from Monroe High School with the class of 1969.

As a young boy, Terry attended Zion Lutheran Church. The church was not just a spiritual home, but a place that radiated a sense of belonging and community for him. It was here that he developed core values of kindness, and hard work. Terry was a very private but big hearted person and he regularly donated to a less fortunate family.

Later in life Terry discovered his passion for golf. He spent countless hours at the local Green Meadows Golf Course, where the lush greens and challenging fairways became his haven. Though he played merely for the joy of the game, his skills on the course were impressive. Every week, without fail, Terry could be found at the golf course, enjoying the company of his friends and the sport that brought so much joy to his life. When he was not able to golf due to his health, he enjoyed watching all types of sports, with his best friend Craig.

For fifteen years, Terry was gainfully employed as a maintenance worker at Frenchtown Place.  He dedicated himself to his job, and his reliability and friendly demeanor quickly contributed to the upkeep and smooth operation of the establishment.
