Leslie Anne Hutka was born on January 5, 1961, in Chillicothe, Ohio, she was the beloved daughter of Richard and Elizabeth (Ashby) Hutka. Leslie cherished her childhood memories playing sports and running around with her siblings. After graduating high school, she dedicated thirty-five years of her life to working as a molder and QA analyst for Alpha Packaging (aka Quality Container).

Leslie married and was blessed with two wonderful children: Paul and Kelly, who brought immense joy and pride to her life. Leslie had a passion for golf, playing regularly on a league at the Dundee Golf Course, and she delighted in social gatherings with friends over billiards and cards. She always enjoyed sharing a cold beer with loved ones, slowing down to take in the simple pleasures of life.

Leslie's greatest joy came from her role as a grandmother. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them, creating lasting memories that will fondly be remembered by all.

Leslie Anne McDonnell, age 63, of Dundee, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Friday; October 25, 2024. She had been under the care of Arbor Hospice.  Her passing was preceded by her parents: Richard and Elizabeth Hutka and a sister: Stephanie Hutka.

She leaves to cherish her memory, two beloved children: Paul (Tessa) McDonnell and Kelly (Jake) Brown; three loving grandchildren: Arya Brown, Lennon McDonnell, and James Brown; and three cherished siblings: Chuck (Rita) Hutka, Mike (Cathy) Hutka and Jeff (Kathy) Hutka.

Friends may gather from 12:00pm until 3:00pm on Saturday; November 2, 2024, at Merkle Funeral Service, Dundee; 297 Tecumseh Street, Dundee, Michigan 48131 (734) 529-3156.  A Celebration of Leslie’s Life will follow at 3:00pm also at Merkle’s.  Cremation has taken place through Covenant Cremation of Erie, Michigan, a division of Merkle Enterprises, Inc.
