Obituary of Michele Lynn Wilson
Michele Lynn Sperr was born in Monroe, Michigan on September 5, 1963. She was the daughter of Michael Sperr and Mary Louise (Coleman) Sperr. She attended Golden School, Cantrick, and Monroe High School through the 10th grade. In 1987, she was extremely proud to return to school and obtain her GED. She continued her education at Monroe County Community College and then received her state certificate at Washtenaw Community College after passing her exam.
Throughout her life, Michele cared for those around her. A woman of devout Christian faith, she used whatever means necessary to constantly draw herself closer to her God. She daily spent time in prayer and Bible Study and encouraged others to do the same. When given a terminal diagnosis, Michele continued living each day for her Lord, making sure to instill in all she had contact with the way to eternal life. Michele knew that her time here was fleeting but that her forever home was in Heaven. Over the years she worshipped at Grace Missionary Baptist Church, One Way Christian Fellowship, and had spent time at Grape Missionary Baptist, but she knew her God was omnipotent, wherever and whenever. She loved to sing and listen to gospel and soft rock music.
Michele and Richard Dwain "Ricky" Wilson began dating in 1978. They made their love official when they married on May 17, 1996, at Grace Missionary Baptist Church. The ceremony was presided by the late Reverend Delmar Moore. The couple were blessed with four children in their home.
For more than thirty-five years, Michele was a State Certified Nursing Assistant. She was extremely passionate about her work. She served others that were developmentally disabled and patients at the IHM, provided homecare, and worked for several private nursing homes.
Michele was very crafty, she liked to paint and had learned ceramics through a class at the Arthur Lesow Community Center. She enjoyed completing puzzles, often framing them to make wonderful pictures and making cut and tie blankets. She also found a passion for riding motorcycles, and had hoped to have her own three-wheel bike.
