John (Jack) Bernard Cousino August 30, 1951 - July 19, 2015 John (Jack) Bernard Cousino was born on August 30, 1951 in Monroe, MI., he was the son of the late Leon and Zettie (Bastien) Cousino. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary's Catholic Church in South Rockwood, MI., where he grew up. After graduating in the class of 1969 from Airport High School; He married his high school sweetheart, the former Susan M. Bomia on November 29, 1969 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Monroe, MI. They were blessed with two wonderful children, Clint Cousino and Angie (Jared) Kimple. In his early teens he worked for Westborn Golf Course and in his senior year of high school he began working at Ace Paper Products. He was one of the last employees of General Motors Willow Run Assembly when it closed in 1992 and then transferred to General Motors Hydomantic in Toledo, OH. He retired after 30 years of employment with General Motors in 2001. Jack truly loved his family. He did whatever necessary for them, always looking out for their best interest. He was a jack of all trades and a master of some. Jack loved to cook and made the best barbeque chicken. He was the best Papa to his grandchildren. Papa Jack had this way of teaching that would make them think instead of just giving them the answer. They knew when Papa's voice got a little louder he meant business but he always had a soft spot and would just smile. He loved his grandchildren deeply and they loved him in return. His granddaughter Autumn, was nicknamed Sweet Pea and she often made cards and posters, showing her love for her Papa. His grandson Kelby, nickname of Bubba Louie, among others, would always do things that would just make him smile and laugh. There was nothing artificial about Jack. He would always be honest with all and told you like it was, being respected for it. He was still an affectionate and gentle person. The memories we have of Jack will never be forgotten and we are grateful for the memories he made for us. It has been said by many that Jack had more friends that anyone they knew. He enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers, was a Harley Davidson enthusiast, and enjoyed classic cars. Jack was a member of Divine Grace Catholic Church (St. Joseph) Maybee, Dundee Sportsman Club of which he was a past board member where he enjoyed going and hanging out with fellow members and Local 14, Toledo, OH.
