Obituary of Rosalie Lewis

Rosalie Ann Dusseau was born in Erie on March 9, 1935. She was one of nine children born from the marriage of Joseph and Mary (Stock) Dusseau. Rosalie graduated from Central Catholic High School in Toledo in June of 1953. Rosalie married Walter Lewis, on June 18 1956 and were blessed with seven children.
Rosalie had a strong faith and loved her Lord. She was a faithful member of St. Joseph Church and belonged to the Altar Society. Family and friends were important to Rosalie and she was known as Pete or Aunt Pete by the many people who loved her. In addition to being close with her own family, Rosalie cherished the special bond she had with her husband's family. She loved playing cards, bingo, "baby shower" and trips to the casino.
Rosalie, age 80 a lifelong Erie resident, passed away at home on Tuesday, October 20, 2015. In addition to her parents, her passing was preceded by her husband Walter; son: Timothy; five siblings: Ernie, Dorothy "Dort", Norman, Raymond, and Rolland; granddaughter: Andrea Joy Lewis; and grandson: Jake Bice.
In her memory, Rosalie leaves six children: Denise (Robert) Rauch, Susan (Richard) Molander, Walter Lewis, Joan (William) Milne, Jan (David) Bice, and Kathleen (Brian) Leiby; ten grandchildren: Zachary Rauch, Jenna and Allyce Molander, Graham and Payton Milne; Julia and Devin Bice, Simon, Seth and Samuel Leiby; one sister: Carol (Ward) Close; two brothers: Paul (Sharon) and Charles Dusseau; and many other beloved family and friends.
Friends may gather on Friday, October 23, 2015 from 2:00pm until a Service of Remembrance at 8:00pm at Merkle Funeral Service, 9156 Summit Street in Erie (734) 848-5185. She will lie-in-state on Saturday, October 24, 2015 from 11:00am until the Mass of the Resurrection at 12:00pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2214 Manhattan Street in Erie. Father David Cybulski will officiate and procession will follow to St. Joseph Cemetery for burial.
