Kevin Lee Polley was born in Monroe, Michigan on February 18, 1967. He was the son of Harry L. Polley. Kevin attended Dundee Schools.
Kevin was an extremely hard worker. For several years he was employed at the Meijer Warehouse as a laborer, and for the past several years he worked as an owner and operator truck driver for Commodore. He had formerly worked for Sygma and Flat Out Trucking for a combined total of fifteen years.
Kevin was passionate about the outdoors. When he wasn't working he could often be found spending time with his daughter and father. Together they enjoyed hunting bear and deer and loved fishing. Kevin had also spent time boar hunting. Other favorite pastimes included boating and visiting the Ridgeville II Lodge near Alpena for camping and four-wheeling. Kevin loved to ride a Harley Davidson.
Kevin was a bowling enthusiast and participated in several leagues at Monroe Sports Center. He was a Certified Scuba Diver as well as a fantastic cook. His passion for cooking always led to the diner's delight, and he loved to barbeque in any type of weather.
Kevin Lee Polley, age 46 of Monroe passed away on Friday, May 10, 2013 at Detroit Receiving Hospital from complications suffered in a motorcycle accident on May 3. His passing was preceded by his grandparents.
To cherish his memory he leaves his father: Harry Polley of Monroe; stepmother: Mary Whaley of Milan; daughter: Hannah Polley; sister: Gena Whipple; half-sister: Megan (Matt) Hensley; half-brother: Geoffrey Robinson; nieces: Brittany, Tiffany, and Christina Whipple; aunts: Margaret (John "Butch") Green, and Rose Mary Ferguson; uncle: Tom (Donna) Kaufman; and Biddie Hall; as well as numerous cousins and various other family members; and a host of friends.
Friends may gather from 2:00pm until 8:00pm, Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734) 384-5185. Friends may also gather from 10:00am until A Celebration of His Life at 11:00am on Thursday, May 16, 2013 also at Merkle's. Pastor Donald Brown of Calvary United Methodist Church of Dundee will officiate. Procession will follow to Michigan Memorial Park for burial.
